Personal Computer Registration Agreement

The number of personal computer, both boys' and staff, being used on the School network is increasing rapidly. This is encouraging, but is producing some management problems. There have been some occasions when viruses have been imported, and others where inappropriate software has been used or even shared over the network.

It is suggested that you print a copy of this agreement.
Note that by continuing with the registration process, you are agreeing to this contract.

We need to have a register of these computers, to ensure that

a) we know what computers are connected to the network,
b) we know who owns which computer,
c) the computer has been set up correctly for the network,
d) we can contact the owner by their school email account,
e) every computer has effective anti-virus software, regularly upgraded,
f) there are no shared folders,
g) any inappropriate or excessive use can be traced.

Users using their own computers at School will of course be expected to adhere to the School 'Acceptable Use Policy' which is available on-line here, and specifically must not

a) attempt to bypass any security or monitoring systems in place, or
b) impersonate other users or computers.
